Giraffes of the Masai Mara Giraffes are diurnal a Giraffes of the Masai Mara

Giraffes are diurnal and live in small groups.
🦒
They can run 50-60 km per hour and look amazingly graceful…and a slow motion video.
🦒
They eat 16-20 hours per day and they love eating various species of the Acacia tree.
🦒
There are an estimated 33,000 giraffes in Kenya today.
🦒
The Masai giraffe is considered endangered by the IUCN and its population has decreased by 52% in recent decades because of poaching and loss of habitat.
🦒
One of our favorite animals to witness in their natural habitat.

Eye of the Leopard
🐆
One of the most adaptable cats in all of Africa.
🐆
Their strength is unmatched considering their size, plus their speed and stealth in taking down prey.
🐆
Interesting fact…Leopards do have the ability to see color.
🐆
They have the ability to see blue-violet and yellow-green but not red-orange wavelengths.
🐆
What this means is that they see in shades of yellow, grey, and blue but some scientists think they can see some shades of green.
🐆
Anyway you SEE it they have stunning eyes that pierce right through you.
🐆
One of our favorite animals to spot on safari and always worth looking for.
🐆
Contemplating what safari company to help make the most memorable journey of a lifetime?

Showtime starts with Leopards in the Maasai Mara N Showtime starts with Leopards in the Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya!
🐆
Researchers estimate that there are about 30 resident leopards in the Mara.
🐆
With good guides and a reliable vehicle we can almost guarantee you will see more than one leopard on your safari with us.
🐆
Leoprds love the shade and we were fortunate to have this one choose our vehicle for shade.
🐆
We like to follow the rules and sitting here with this leopard is not common practice…we had to move and she moved with us… we kept moving until she got the idea and headed for cover.
🐆
Do whats right and follow the rules in the Mara…and don’t ask your guide to get too close to any animals.
🐆
Time to show respect…you are in their home!

This is a true success story only made possible by @sheldricktrust and this success story will continue on for decades to come.
🐘
The best people to tell the story is @sheldricktrust so please take the time to visit their website where it starts with the rescue of Murera and now the birth of Mwana.
🐘
We had taken guest to Umani Springs and had the privilege of meeting Mwana who is a feisty, confident, and very fearless. She is a beautiful elephant and will follow in her mothers footsteps.
